"Approach the New Year with resolve to find the opportunities hidden in every day." - Michael Josephson
"Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every New Year find you a better man." - quotes in Benjamin Franklin's 1755 Poor Richard's Almanac
It's a new year. 2013 has arrived. 2012 was pretty good, all things considered. I learned a lot. I grew. I became aware. I accomplished things that previously I had not deemed possible. So 2012 was good. But I look forward to 2013 being great! I want to follow Mr. Josephson's advice & approach it with the attitude of looking for the opportunities within each day. And the goodness every day holds. I read somewhere that every day might not be good, but there is good in every day.
I don't want my vices to gain control. I want to be at peace with everyone & everything else. And I definitely want to be a better version of myself. No, actually, I want to be the best version of myself.
I'm looking forward to making this the best year yet. I know the year will bring challenges & heartache - those are unavoidable. But I hope to continually approach them with strength & grace. Gratitude for simply living.
The year will be what I make it. And I pray I'm able to make it fabulous!
Cheers to 2013!
