"Work is not always required. There is such a thing as sacred idleness." - George MacDonald
Relaxation… you hear the word all the time. People say to take time to relax. "I hope you have a relaxing weekend." and so forth. Apparently, I'm in more need of it than I consciously thought. The last two nights I've had "work dreams" - you know - the ones where you dream about work & wake up totally unrefreshed because it was as though you worked all through your sleep. My work dreams have been stressful work situations. So I'm thinking that I need to take the weekend & try to totally relax. Find the sacred idleness Mr. MacDonald speaks of.
So while the vast majority of the country is in the midst of a bone chilling winter, I think I'll embrace the beauty of living in sunny South Florida & take myself to the beach. My zen spot. Listen to the waves. Feel the sun on my face. Get a good dose of Vitamin D and a better dose of the joy of simplicity. Start next week off with a little more peace. And maybe even be able to have stress-less dreams while I sleep.
